Chee Lam Design
Description
A Toland/Trigger collaboration, this winning design competition scheme is for the revitalisation of the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park in Cairns, Queensland. Retaining the core existing elements comprising 2 performance spaces and the main dining area, the design incorporates new threshold spaces that link these elements and creates new opportunities for additional layers of interpretive functions which also forms the basis of visitor movement. The design opens up the physical fabric to its surrounds creating a much stronger relationship with its immediate environment.
