Developed in close collaboration with the Sisters of Mercy, this permanent interpretive exhibition captures the spirit, legacy and ongoing work of the Order across 150 years in Australia. Organised around the themes of Foundation, Health, Education and Social Justice, the exhibition combines 3D displays, immersive environments and interactive multimedia to communicate stories of service and community impact.

Housed within Stormanston House — a grand c.1900 heritage building on the Sisters’ grounds — the exhibition carefully balances contemporary interpretation with respect for the site’s historic fabric. A sequence of theatrical spatial experiences was created, each tailored to its theme while responding sensitively to the character of the rooms. Everyday materials are used in inventive ways, reflecting the Sisters’ grounded values and the profound outcomes of their work. The result is an exhibition that is both intimate and uplifting, designed to resonate across generations.
